About Community templates

A community server has no single activity to organise around, so its structure has to carry the weight on its own. These templates open with a welcome category that answers the first three questions a newcomer has: what is this place, what are the rules, and how do I get a role. The discussion area is split by topic rather than by mood, so a channel name tells a member exactly what belongs there, and off-topic overflow has one home instead of leaking everywhere. Events, media, suggestions and a help desk each get a category, and a staff area with logs and a moderator chat sits at the bottom. Sizes run from a small starter layout with a dozen channels to a large layout with forums for long-running topics and stage channels for announcements. Roles are deliberately plain: a moderator tier, a trusted-member tier earned through activity, and self-assignable interest roles. This is the category where Vetox's Welcomer, Leveling, Suggestions, Reminders and Auto-Mod all earn their place at once.

Frequently asked questions

How big should my server be before I use a large community template?

Around a few hundred active members. Below that, the medium layout keeps every channel busy; above it, the forums and stages in the large layout stop the main channels from scrolling too fast to follow.

Do these templates include age-restricted channels?

No. Nothing in the catalog is age-restricted. Add such channels yourself if your community needs them, and mark them in Discord.

What should I set up first after applying?

Welcomer, Self-Roles and Auto-Mod, in that order. The template creates the channels those features post into, so each one is a two-minute setup.
