Choose a server, review what will be created or reused, then confirm. Merge keeps what you have; replace rebuilds the server. Vetox takes a safety backup first either way.

Overview
Most servers are text with voice attached. This one is the reverse: eighteen voice channels, one stage and only a handful of text channels. Info holds #start-here, #voice-etiquette - push to talk in the big rooms, ask before you stream, no recording - an announcement channel and #roles. Text is three channels: #text-chat for whatever cannot wait, #links-and-clips, and #call-someone-in, where a person sitting alone in a room pings Night Owl or a friend to join them. Chill Rooms are sorted by how much energy you have: Lobby, Chill Talk, a six-seat Deep Talks, Late Night, Coworking Cams for working with cameras on, and AFK. Active Rooms are for doing something: Game Chat 1 and 2, Movie Couch, Karaoke and Join to Create for Temp Voice. Music has Music Room and Album Night, a slowmoded #song-requests and a DJ-only #now-playing. Events has a Main Stage, an Open Mic stage and a host-written #event-schedule. Voice Hosts are the staff tier that matters here: they get Helper permissions so they can mute, move and settle a room, and they share #hosts-chat, #voice-reports, #vetox-logs and a Hosts Room with the Moderators. Ten roles: Owner, Admin, Moderator, Voice Host, Regular from Leveling, Member, DJ, Night Owl, Event Ping and Muted. Nothing here needs a text conversation to work.
When to use it
Your members are in voice every evening but the server has one General voice channel and twenty text channels nobody uses, so people crowd into one room or leave. This layout gives voice the structure text usually gets: rooms named for a mood or an activity, a music corner with its own rules, a stage for the events that need an audience, and hosts with the permissions to keep a room pleasant.
What makes it different
- Eighteen voice rooms sorted by vibe and activity, against three text channels and one feed.
- #call-someone-in lets a person alone in a room ping Night Owl instead of waiting.
- Voice Hosts hold Helper permissions, enough to mute, move and settle a room without being moderators.
- Music has a DJ-only #now-playing and a slowmoded #song-requests, so the room is never a free-for-all.
- Join to Create gives Temp Voice a home, so a fifth game group gets its own room.
Recommended Vetox setup
Temp Voice
Point Temp Voice at Join to Create so a group that does not fit Game Chat 1 or 2 gets a room named after its owner, deleted when empty.
Leveling
Set Leveling to award XP for voice time and grant Regular from it, so the rank reflects hours in rooms rather than messages in a text channel.
Self-Roles
Post a Self-Roles panel in #roles for Night Owl, DJ and Event Ping; Night Owl is what #call-someone-in pings after midnight.
Server Stats
Turn on Server Stats with a voice-count channel at the top, so members see how many people are in rooms before they join.
Logs
Send Logs to #vetox-logs with voice events on, so a Voice Host can see who left which room when a report arrives.
Questions
Why only three text channels?
Because every text channel competes with the rooms. #text-chat exists for what cannot wait, #links-and-clips for what needs a link, and #call-someone-in for getting people into voice. Anything else gets said out loud.
What do Voice Hosts actually do?
Keep rooms pleasant. They hold Helper permissions, which means they can mute or move someone who is being loud, and they watch #voice-reports. They are not moderators: bans and warnings stay with the Moderator role. Most communities have three or four Hosts across time zones.
How does the music room work?
DJ is a self-assigned role for people who run the queue. Members request in #song-requests, the DJ posts what is playing in #now-playing, which only DJs can write to, and the room itself has no special rules beyond #voice-etiquette. Album Night is the second music room for a full listen-through.
Common mistakes
- Adding text channels because the sidebar looks empty, which pulls conversation out of the rooms the server exists for.
- Giving Voice Hosts full moderator powers or none at all, instead of the mute, move and deafen set that hosting actually needs.
- Leaving every room unlimited, so Deep Talks becomes another lobby and the small-room feeling disappears.
Consider instead
- Topic-Split Community when most of the community's conversation happens in text and voice is an occasional extra
