How does the OC Creator role stop reposts?

#oc-showcase denies sending messages to everyone and allows it for the OC Creator role, which members give themselves in #the-rules. Taking the role is a statement that what you post there is yours. A repost under that role is a rules breach with a name attached, which is what makes the rule enforceable.

Why a whole channel for the no-politics rule?

Because it is the rule that causes arguments. #no-politics-here defines what counts, gives two examples of what is fine and two of what is not, and tells members to report rather than argue. Reports land in #political-content-reports, so the discussion about a breach happens away from the breach.

What is #low-effort-zone for?

The memes that are funny to three people and would be deleted from any other channel. Giving them a home keeps them out of the format channels, and with no Leveling XP there it never becomes the place people farm rank.

Common mistakes

Letting everyone post in #oc-showcase, which fills it with reposts within a day and drives the actual creators out.
Treating the no-politics rule as a vibe instead of writing it down, so every enforcement turns into an argument about what counts.
Running the contest in one channel, where the image, forty entries and the vote all scroll past each other.
