Server structure

Overview

A community that has been raided, brigaded or spammed once and does not want it to happen again. A newcomer sees exactly three channels: #verify-here with the verification panel, #gate-rules and #verification-help where they can ask if the button does not work. Everything else is hidden until the Verified role arrives. From there the server opens in layers. The Commons is for every verified member: #commons, #newcomer-questions, #pictures-and-links, #polls-and-votes and #rank-check for Leveling commands. Regulars, hidden until level five, holds #regulars-lounge, a slowmoded #real-talk and #recommendations-desk. Trusted, hidden until level fifteen, holds #trusted-lounge, #community-council where suggestions are voted on before staff decide, and a staff-written #sneak-peeks. Info carries the announcement channel, #community-guide, #role-picker and #appeals - a channel where the Muted role is explicitly allowed to write, so a muted member can contest a decision without DMing a moderator. Voice mirrors the tiers: Commons Voice, Regulars Voice, Trusted Voice and AFK. Staff have #staff-chat, #verification-queue for stuck verifications, #appeals-review where appeals are discussed away from the appellant, #vetox-logs and a voice room. Verifier is a Helper-level role that only handles the gate; Moderator and Admin sit above it.

When to use it

Your server gets hit by a wave of throwaway accounts every few weeks, long-time members are tired of it, and every mute ends in an argument in DMs. This layout stops unverified accounts at three channels, opens the server in tiers as members level up, and gives muted members one channel where they can write an appeal that staff review in private.

What makes it different

• Unverified accounts see three channels: the panel, the gate rules and a place to ask for help.
• Regulars opens at level five and Trusted at level fifteen, hidden until Leveling grants the role.
• #appeals is the one channel where the Muted role is allowed to write, so an appeal never needs a DM.
• #community-council lets Trusted members vote on suggestions before staff decide them.
• Verifier is a dedicated Helper-level role, so gate duty does not require full moderator powers.

Recommended Vetox setup

• Protection

  Turn on Protection with a verification panel in #verify-here that grants the Verified role, which is the key to every other channel.

• Leveling

  Set Regular as a Leveling reward at level five and Trusted at level fifteen; the hidden categories open themselves as members earn the roles.

• Anti-Raid

  Enable Anti-Raid so a burst of joins is held at the gate automatically; the Verifier role clears the #verification-queue afterwards.

• Tickets

  Add a Tickets panel to #verification-help so a member whose verification failed can reach a Verifier in private.

• Logs

  Send Logs to #vetox-logs; an appeal in #appeals is judged against the log of what was actually said, not against memory.
