Overview

A large fandom server for people who watch a bit of everything. Series talk lives in #series-forum, where every title gets a thread and a genre tag, so the sidebar does not grow a channel per show. What is airing right now has its own category: #seasonal-lineup holds the chart, #episode-discussion is a forum with a thread per episode, and #episode-reactions is slow-moded for premiere night. Spoilers are handled by structure, not by trust. The SPOILER ZONE category is hidden from everyone and unlocked only by the self-assigned Spoiler Access role, so #latest-episode-spoilers and #manga-ahead-spoilers cannot be opened by accident. Manga, light novels and webtoons get their own category, recommendations are split into #recommend-me, #hidden-gems and #where-to-watch, and the creative corner covers fan art, cosplay, AMVs and fan fiction. Voice is built around the watch party: a Watch Party room, a Second Screen for the overflow, a Karaoke Night room for openings and a Community Stage for seasonal preview shows. There is no AFK channel on purpose, because Discord would move a silent viewer out of the screening. Staff get a hidden chat, a reports queue, an event-planning room shared with Event Hosts and a private voice room.

When to use it

You run a general anime community where the same three problems keep coming back: someone gets spoiled on the latest episode in the main chat, the sidebar fills with dead channels for shows nobody watches anymore, and the weekly watch party gets lost between memes. This layout answers each one with structure: a spoiler category locked behind a role, a forum thread per series instead of a channel, and a dedicated watch-party category with its own schedule channel, two voice rooms and a stage.

Questions

How does the Spoiler Access role work?

The SPOILER ZONE category is hidden from @everyone and visible only to Spoiler Access, Moderator and Admin. Members give themselves the role through the Self-Roles panel in #pick-your-roles; anyone who wants to stay unspoiled simply never takes it. Moderators can still see the channels to enforce the tagging rules inside them.

Why is series discussion a forum instead of channels?

A forum thread per title keeps every series findable without adding a channel to the sidebar for each one. Tags mark the genre, and a thread stays open as long as people post in it. The only shows that get their own channels are the ones airing this season, and those live in the THIS SEASON category.

What is the Community Stage for?

Stage channels let a few speakers talk while everyone else listens, which suits seasonal preview shows, award nights and community Q&A. Event Hosts run them; the voice rooms next to it are for the actual watch parties.

Can I drop the manga category if my server is anime-only?

Yes. Delete the MANGA & LIGHT NOVELS category and the Manga Reader role, and rename #manga-ahead-spoilers to something like #source-material-spoilers if you keep the spoiler zone. Nothing else depends on it.

Common mistakes

Trusting spoiler tags in an open channel instead of hiding the spoiler category behind a role; one untagged screenshot ruins a finale for everyone.
Creating a text channel for every popular series, which leaves a graveyard of dead channels once the season ends.
Letting the watch-party schedule live in the general chat, where it scrolls away before the weekend.

Consider instead

Seasonal Anime Watch Club Your group only watches the current season together and does not need manga, creative or news channels.
Single-Series Fandom The server is about one title, so arc channels serve it better than a forum thread per series.
