Overview

A small server for people who collect anime figures and want the three things a collector actually needs: a place to show the shelf, a way to track what is coming, and a safe way to trade. The Display Case category holds #collection-showcase for full shelves, #new-arrivals for unboxings, #display-setups for cabinets and lighting, and #grail-hunting for the one figure everyone is chasing. Pre-orders get their own category: #pre-order-calendar is a read-only channel where moderators post upcoming release and payment deadlines, #pre-order-chat is for the waiting, and #deals-and-restocks pings the Deal Alerts role when a price drops or a sold-out figure returns. Trading is gated on purpose: only members holding the Trusted Trader role can open an offer in #trade-board, everyone else reads and replies in the thread, and #trade-feedback records how each trade went so the role means something. #authenticity-checks lets members post close-ups before buying second-hand. Photography has two channels, one for shots and one for monthly challenges, and voice covers an Unboxing Live room and a Collector Hangout. Moderators keep a single hidden #mod-room.

When to use it

A small collecting circle keeps running into the same problems: pre-order deadlines missed because they were mentioned once in chat, a trade that went wrong with no record of who vouched for whom, and a bootleg bought because nobody checked the photos. This layout gives deadlines a read-only calendar, gates trading behind a role earned through feedback, and gives authenticity checks a channel of their own.

What makes it different

  • Only Trusted Traders can open an offer in #trade-board; everyone else reads until they earn the role.
  • #pre-order-calendar is read-only, so payment deadlines never scroll away.
  • #authenticity-checks gives second-hand buyers a place to compare close-ups before paying.
  • Deal Alerts is a mentionable role, so restock pings reach only those who want them.

Recommended Vetox setup

  • Self-Roles

Post a Self-Roles panel in #collector-welcome for Scale Figures, Chibi Figures, Prize Figures and Deal Alerts so members declare what they collect.

  • Reminders

Schedule Reminders in #pre-order-calendar for each payment deadline so the ping lands the day before, not the day after.

  • Tickets

Use Tickets for Trusted Trader applications: a member opens a ticket with proof of past trades and a moderator grants the role from there.

  • Starboard

Point Starboard at #figure-photography so the best shots of the month float to the top without a separate showcase channel.

Questions

How does someone become a Trusted Trader?

They open a ticket with proof of completed trades, on this server or elsewhere, and a moderator grants the role. Every trade is followed by a post in #trade-feedback; a bad report costs the role. Until then a member can read #trade-board and reply inside an offer's thread but cannot post an offer.

Can I use this for other merchandise, like plush or trading cards?

Yes. The structure is about showcase, pre-orders, deals and trades, none of which is specific to figures. Rename the Display Case channels and the three self-assign roles to match what your members collect.

Why is there no separate deals channel per shop?

Deals move fast and shops change; one #deals-and-restocks channel with the Deal Alerts ping is easier to follow than five channels that go quiet. Put the shop name at the start of each post instead.

Common mistakes

  • Letting anyone post trades on day one, which is how a new account walks off with a grail and no way to trace them.
  • Posting pre-order deadlines in the general chat, where they are buried by the next unboxing photo.
