Overview

The first server most streamers make has thirty channels and six people, and it feels empty for a year. This one has twelve channels and is meant to feel full with a handful of regulars. Info holds the four things every viewer needs: #welcome, #rules, a read-only #live-alerts that Vetox fills from Twitch or Kick, the #schedule, and #ping-roles for the Live Ping. Chat is four channels: #general for everything, #clips for the moments worth keeping, #what-to-play for viewers to suggest the next game, and a read-only #milestones where the streamer posts each follower goal, the affiliate day and the first raid received, so the community can see how far it has come. Hangout is the one voice room. The Mod Room is hidden and holds #mod-chat and #mod-logs, so the first moderator you appoint has somewhere to work from day one. There is no subscriber area yet, on purpose; add one when there are subscribers to put in it, and the layout grows into the Single Streamer Community template without renaming anything.

When to use it

You just hit affiliate, the same six people are in chat every night, and you want a Discord that does not look abandoned. This layout is deliberately small: alerts, a schedule, one general chat, clips, a channel for game suggestions, a milestones wall, one voice room and a mod room for the friend who helps you moderate. It grows by adding categories, not by starting over.

What makes it different

  • Twelve channels, so a small community fills the server instead of rattling around in it.
  • #milestones is a read-only wall of every goal reached, from the first follower to affiliate.
  • #what-to-play gives viewers a say in the next game without cluttering #general.
  • A hidden Mod Room exists from day one for your first moderator.
  • Grows into the Single Streamer Community layout by adding categories, not renaming.

Recommended Vetox setup

  • Notifications

Twitch or Kick Notifications into #live-alerts with the Live Ping role; for a new streamer this alert is the single most useful thing the server does.

  • Self-Roles

A Self-Roles panel in #ping-roles for Live Ping, so even a small server does not mention everyone every night.

  • Welcomer

A Welcomer message in #welcome that points new viewers at #rules and #ping-roles, because you will not be online to greet each one.

Questions

What do I add first when the server grows?

A Subscribers category once you have subscribers to put in it, then a second voice room when Hangout is regularly full. Both exist in the Single Streamer Community template; copy them across and keep everything else.

Why is there no AFK channel?

With one voice room and a small group, an AFK channel is a second empty room. Add one when people start leaving Hangout idle.

Do I need the Mod Room if I moderate alone?

Keep it. #mod-logs is where Vetox writes joins, leaves and deletions, and having it hidden from viewers from the start means you do not have to restructure the server the day you appoint a moderator.

Common mistakes

  • Building a subscriber category before there are subscribers, which leaves a locked, empty room in the sidebar.
  • Creating a channel per game on day one; #what-to-play covers it until there is a reason for more.

Consider instead

  • Single Streamer Community You have subscribers, a couple of moderators and enough regulars to fill more than one chat channel.
