Overview

A music stream has its own vocabulary and this server uses it. On Air is the live half: #track-requests takes requests on a thirty-second slowmode so the queue is readable, #now-playing is read-only and mirrors what is on the decks, #setlists holds the tracklist after every set for the people who ask "what was that at 1:32", and #shoutouts is for the listeners the DJ names on air. The Crate is the archive: #mixes is a forum with a thread per mix tagged by genre, #track-ids is where someone identifies the tune nobody could name, #new-releases is read-only for the DJ's own drops with a Release Ping, and #gear-and-decks is the equipment talk. Producers get four channels of their own, feedback exchange, sample swap and a collab board included, because a DJ's audience is full of people making music. Supporters have a hidden lounge, early drops and a voice room. Voice is a Listening Party room for group listening, a Main Stage for live performances where the DJ is the speaker and the room is the crowd, and a Producer Room. The Booth is the hidden mod room, with #request-moderation for handling the requests that should not be played.

When to use it

Half your chat asks for a track ID, the other half wants their request played, and the producers in your audience have nowhere to share what they made. This layout gives requests a slowmoded channel and a moderation room behind it, puts every set's tracklist where people can find it later, gives mixes a forum sorted by genre, and gives producers their own corner with feedback and collabs. The Main Stage lets you perform to the room in voice on the nights you are not streaming.

Questions

How do track requests reach the DJ during a set?

Listeners post in #track-requests, which has a thirty-second slowmode per person. Moderators watch #request-moderation for anything that should be skipped, and the DJ reads the channel between transitions. Requests played get a reaction so people know they were heard.

What is the Main Stage for if I already stream?

Off-platform performances. A stage channel puts the DJ on the microphone and the room in the audience, so a Discord-only set, a listening session for a new mix, or a producer showcase can happen without going live on Twitch or Kick.

Do producers need a role to use their channels?

No, the Producers category is open to everyone so listeners can see what is being made. The Producer role marks the people who actually release music and lets #collab-board mention them as a group.

Common mistakes

Taking requests in general chat, where they are buried between messages and the DJ misses most of them.
Not posting setlists after a set, which means the same track ID question is asked in five channels for a week.
