Server structure

Overview

An IRL stream moves, and the server has to answer two questions all day: where is the streamer, and is it safe to say. On the Road is the travel half: #where-am-i is read-only and names the current city and nothing more precise, #travel-plan is the read-only list of upcoming stops, #stream-chat is the overflow while live, #photos is where viewers post the shots they took from the stream and #trip-recaps is the streamer's own summary after each leg. Meetups get a category with rules: #meetup-requests is a forum tagged by region where a viewer proposes a meetup and a moderator reviews it, #meetup-announcements is read-only and only the streamer or producer confirms one, and #local-tips is where people with the Local Guide role share the food and places worth a detour. #safety-rules sits in Arrivals as the first thing anyone reads: no exact locations, no following, no posting where the streamer is staying. The Community category covers general, travel talk, food finds, gear and tech, and memes. Subscribers get a hidden lounge, a vote on the next destination and a voice room. The Safety Room is the hidden moderator area, with #safety-reports for anything that crosses a line and Vetox logs beside it.

When to use it

Viewers keep asking exactly where you are, someone posted your hotel in general, and meetup requests are scattered across DMs. This layout fixes all three: a read-only where-am-I channel that says only the city, a safety rulebook at the front door, meetup requests in a forum that moderators review before anything is announced, and a hidden safety room where a viewer can report someone crossing the line. Local Guides are a visible role for the people who know each city and make the stream better.

  Auto-Mod rules for hotel names, street names and coordinates, so a location leak in #general or #photos is removed on the spot.

• Self-Roles

  A Self-Roles panel in #ping-roles for Live Ping and Meetup Ping, so meetup confirmations reach only the people in that city.

• Logs

  Logs into #mod-logs in the Safety Room, so a deleted location leak leaves a record the producer can act on.

• Reminders

  A Reminder in #travel-plan the day before each move, so the producer updates #where-am-i as soon as the streamer lands.
