Overview

A club rather than a friend group, which changes the mechanics entirely: members are strangers, attendance varies, and the same film has to work for people watching at three different times. #this-cycles-pick is read-only and holds one film with where it can be watched and both screening times, which is the only thing most members ever need. Nominations run properly: #nominate takes one film per member with a sentence on why, #shortlist is what moderators put forward, and #vote decides. #past-picks is the archive, and it is the channel that persuades a newcomer this club is real. Screenings run twice per cycle because a single time excludes half the world, so Screening One and Screening Two are the same film at two hours, with #watch-along-chat live during both. Spoiler tiers are the hard part of an open club and are handled explicitly: #no-spoilers is for anyone who has not watched and stays clean permanently, #after-watching is for people who have finished this cycle's pick, and #anything-goes has no spoiler rules for anything at all. #written-reviews is where the club's character lives, one considered post per member per cycle rather than a reaction. Recommendations and #what-else-are-you-watching cover the rest. Moderation is visible and the club is open to join at any point in a cycle.

When to use it

Open watch clubs collapse over three things: nobody can find what is being watched, one screening time excludes most of the membership, and spoilers leak into every channel because the boundaries are vague. This layout keeps one read-only channel with the pick and both times, runs proper nominations so the choice feels shared, and defines three explicit spoiler tiers so someone joining mid-cycle is not immediately spoiled.
