Overview

Built for an independent label that wants one server for fans, roster and staff without the three groups tripping over each other. Releases come first: #release-feed is an announcement channel only the Label Manager posts in, #drop-discussion is where the current release is talked about, #catalog-threads keeps a forum thread per past release and #artist-threads gives each signed artist a thread that only they can open. Demos are handled the way an inbox should be: members can post in #demo-submissions but cannot read it, so submissions stay private, A&R reads and replies by DM, and #demo-status says how far through the pile they are. Roster artists get a backstage category hidden from everyone else with #roster-lounge, #artist-questions and #assets-and-artwork, and they co-host the Release Party stage. Supporters get a lounge, #early-listens and polls; the Street Team gets #promo-tasks and #promo-proof. Fans have #fan-chat, #now-playing, #merch-and-vinyl, #fan-art-and-edits and a read-only #show-dates. The back office holds the release calendar and the A&R notes.

When to use it

Your label runs releases from a group chat, demos arrive in DMs and get lost, and fans hear about a drop from social media days late. This layout gives releases a feed nobody can talk over, gives demos a submit-only channel that only A&R reads, hides the roster's working space from the public, and gives supporters and the street team their own rooms so the people who push the label get something back.

What makes it different

  • #demo-submissions lets members post but not read, so demos stay private and A&R works through them in order.
  • #release-feed and #show-dates are read-only feeds posted by the Label Manager, so news never scrolls away.
  • The roster category is hidden from fans and holds the lounge, questions and artwork hand-offs.
  • #artist-threads is a forum where only Roster Artists open threads and fans reply inside them.
  • Supporters and the Street Team each get a hidden category with feeds only staff post in.

Recommended Vetox setup

  • Notifications

Connect the label's YouTube channel and podcast feed with Notifications so every upload lands in #release-feed without anyone copying a link.

  • Self-Roles

Post a Self-Roles panel in #notification-roles for Release Ping, Show Ping and Merch Ping so fans choose which mentions they get.

  • Tickets

Put a ticket panel in #about-the-label for booking and press requests, so they reach the Label Manager instead of a public channel.

  • Applications

Use Applications for the Street Team so volunteers answer a few questions and get the role on approval, with the answers kept in #label-staff.

  • Reminders

Schedule a Reminder in #drop-discussion the morning of every release day with the links from #release-feed.

Questions

How does the demo channel stay private if everyone can post in it?

#demo-submissions denies Read Message History to everyone except A&R, the Label Manager and moderators. A member sees the channel and can send a message with a link, but cannot scroll back, so nobody sees anyone else's demo. A&R answers by DM and posts progress in #demo-status.

What do Supporters get?

A hidden category: #supporter-lounge, #early-listens where the label posts streams before release, #supporter-polls and a voice room. How someone becomes a Supporter is up to you - a paid tier, a manual grant for long-time fans, or both.

Can fans talk to roster artists?

In #artist-threads. Each artist opens one thread and fans reply inside it; the forum denies new threads to everyone else, so it stays one thread per artist.

Common mistakes

  • Letting demos arrive in a public channel, where the first ten get listened to and the rest are ignored.
  • Giving Roster Artists the same view as fans, so the working questions about artwork and masters end up in public.
