Overview
An official server for one artist, run by their team, where fans get news first and the artist's own space stays under control. The official category is read-only: #artist-announcements, #new-music, #tour-dates, #merch-drops and #press-and-interviews are posted by Management and the Community Manager, so a fan who opens the server after a week finds every update in order. The fan zone is where the talking happens: #fan-chat, a #song-threads forum with a thread per song tagged by record, #fan-art, #covers-and-remixes, #concert-photos and #fan-memes. Touring has its own category with #tour-chat, a #meetups-by-city forum tagged by region, #setlist-spotting and #queue-and-venue-tips. Release Night is a stage channel for listening parties, with #party-chat alongside it. Inner Circle is a hidden tier for the fans the artist wants closest - long-time supporters, a paid tier, contest winners - with #first-listens, #ask-the-artist, polls and a voice room. Tour Ping, Release Ping and Merch Ping are opt-in roles so mentions go only to people who asked.
When to use it
The artist's fans are scattered over comment sections and a fan-run group chat where announcements get buried and rumours travel faster than facts. This layout gives the team five read-only feeds fans can trust, moves discussion into per-song threads and a tour category, hosts release nights on a stage, and gives the closest fans an inner circle that is worth earning.
What makes it different
- Five read-only official feeds - announcements, new music, tour dates, merch and press - posted by the team only.
- #song-threads is a forum with one thread per song, tagged by record, so lyric talk stays findable.
- #meetups-by-city is a forum tagged by region so fans at the same show find each other before the doors open.
- Inner Circle is a hidden tier with #first-listens and #ask-the-artist that the team grants by hand.
- Tour Ping, Release Ping and Merch Ping are opt-in, so a tour mention never reaches fans who cannot travel.
Recommended Vetox setup
Notifications
Connect the artist's YouTube channel and Bluesky account with Notifications so uploads and posts land in #new-music the moment they go live.
Self-Roles
Post a Self-Roles panel in #ping-roles for Tour Ping, Release Ping and Merch Ping; a mention in #tour-dates then reaches only the fans who opted in.
Leveling
Turn on Leveling with Day One as a role reward at a level regulars reach in a few months, so the hoisted tier means real presence.
Giveaways
Run merch and ticket Giveaways in #merch-drops; entries stay in the channel and winners are drawn without a spreadsheet.
Tickets
Put a ticket panel in #start-here for fan reports and Inner Circle requests so they reach the Community Manager privately.
Questions
Does the artist need to be active in the server?
No. The server works with the team posting feeds and the Community Manager hosting; #ask-the-artist in the Inner Circle is where the artist answers questions in batches when they have time, which sets an expectation fans can live with.
How do fans get into the Inner Circle?
However the team decides: a paid tier, a Day One level reward, contest winners or a manual grant. The category is hidden from the Fan role, and #first-listens inside it is read-only so previews come from the team alone.
Can I run a listening party for the new record?
Open the Release Night stage, have the Community Manager host it and keep reactions in #party-chat. Announce the time in #artist-announcements with Release Ping so the right fans get the mention.
Common mistakes
- Letting the artist post in #fan-chat from day one, which turns the whole server into a queue of people waiting for a reply.
- Pinging everyone for a show in one city; opt-in ping roles exist so the mention reaches the fans who can go.
