Overview

A server for a charity stream marathon: a 24-hour stream, a week-long relay across several streamers, or an annual fundraiser with a schedule, milestones and incentives. Marathon Info is read-only and answers the questions viewers arrive with: #stream-schedule, #how-to-donate and #the-cause, which the charity's own representative can post in. Live is the layer that moves during the event: #live-now takes the go-live alerts, producers post to #donation-milestones and #incentives-and-goals as totals climb, volunteers read out donations into #donor-wall, and #stream-chat is the slowmoded room for everyone watching, with a Watch Together voice and a Hype Stage for milestone moments. Community holds a viewer lounge, clips, a #challenge-suggestions channel where viewers propose incentives, and a donor-only lounge. Streamers have a hidden category with the handoff schedule, overlay assets, a tech-check channel and a Backstage voice. Volunteers get their handbook, a donation-reading queue and shift sign-ups. The charity partner has a liaison channel and a read-only #fund-tracking feed. Production is the hidden control room: the segment rundown, chat moderation, Vetox logs and a Production Call.

When to use it

Twelve streamers are relaying over a weekend for a hospital charity. Viewers need to know who is live and what the next incentive is, volunteers need a queue of donations to read on air, the charity wants verified totals without a login, and streamers need a handoff schedule and the overlay files. This layout separates the public live channels from the hidden rooms each of those groups works in, so the producer runs one server instead of four group chats.

What makes it different

  • #donation-milestones and #incentives-and-goals are producer-posted feeds, so the current goal is never lost in chat.
  • #donor-wall is where volunteers read out donations, keeping shoutouts separate from the slowmoded #stream-chat.
  • Streamers get a hidden handoff schedule, overlay assets and a Backstage voice for the next relay leg.
  • The charity's representative can post in #the-cause and reads verified totals in a private #fund-tracking feed.
  • #challenge-suggestions lets viewers propose the next incentive instead of shouting it in chat.

Recommended Vetox setup

  • Notifications

Add Twitch, YouTube or Kick Notifications into #live-now for every streamer on the relay so the go-live alert posts itself at each handoff.

  • Reminders

Schedule Reminders in #stream-schedule thirty minutes before each handoff so the next streamer and the volunteers on shift are pinged.

  • Suggestions

Turn on Suggestions in #challenge-suggestions so viewer incentive ideas get voted up and the producer picks from the top.

  • Embed Messages

Use Embed Messages in #how-to-donate and #the-cause so the donation link, the charity's registration number and the total sit in a pinned card.

  • Auto-Mod

Enable Auto-Mod on #stream-chat with link filtering so a fake donation link cannot be posted during the busiest hour.

Questions

How does the donor role work?

A volunteer or producer gives the Donor role manually when a donation comes in with a Discord name attached, and Top Donor to the leaders. Both roles are cosmetic and open the #donor-lounge; nothing about the amounts is stored in the server.

Where do live alerts come from?

Vetox Notifications watches each streamer's channel and posts to #live-now when they go live. Add every streamer on the relay before the event so the alert follows the handoff.

Can the charity see the money?

The producer posts verified totals into #fund-tracking, which the Charity Rep role can read but not edit. The public running total goes into #donation-milestones.

Common mistakes

  • Posting milestones in chat, where they scroll away in seconds; #donation-milestones is read-only so the record of the event stays.
  • Giving streamers and volunteers one shared room; the handoff schedule and the reading queue are different jobs with different people.
