Overview

Built for a single amateur roster - five starters, a substitute or two, a coach and whoever analyses the VODs - that plays scrims most evenings and an online league at the weekend. Everything the team does in private sits in two categories that fans never see. Team Room holds #roster-chat, #scrim-schedule, #scrim-results and #availability, so the block for Thursday, the score from Tuesday and who is away next week live three channels apart instead of buried in one chat, with the Scrim Block voice room capped at seven right beside them. Strategy is locked tighter still: #playbook and #vod-review are forums with one thread per map or per match, and #opponent-scouting keeps notes on the teams you are about to face. Trialists can read the Team Room but not Strategy, so a trial week never leaks the set plays. The public half is deliberately small: #match-announcements for fixtures and results, #fan-lounge and #match-day-chat for the people who turn up to watch, a Watch Party voice room, and a #tryouts channel where hopefuls open a ticket. The manager and coach keep #management and #team-logs to themselves.

When to use it

Your five-stack has started taking scrims seriously, a coach has joined, and the group chat you ran on can no longer hold a schedule, a review thread and a handful of supporters at once. This layout gives the roster a private working space, keeps the playbook away from trialists and fans, and leaves a small public front so supporters have somewhere to gather on match nights.

• Tickets

  Put a ticket panel in #tryouts so each applicant talks to the manager privately and receives the Trialist role from inside the ticket.

• Reminders

  Schedule a Reminder in #scrim-schedule an hour before every block so the roster is in Scrim Block on time.

• Auto Roles

  Hand out Fan automatically on join; Player, Substitute and Trialist stay manual so nobody walks into the Team Room by accident.

• Notifications

  Route the team's Twitch channel into #match-announcements so fans are pinged the moment an official match goes live.

• Logs

  Point Logs at #team-logs to see who joined, who left and which roles changed while everyone was in a scrim.
