Overview

A network server whose whole job is pairing teams for practice matches. It is not a team and has no roster; its members are captains and players from many teams. Find a Scrim is the core: one channel per game, #lfs-valorant, #lfs-cs2, #lfs-overwatch, #lfs-rocket-league and #lfs-apex, where only verified captains can post and every post follows one format with the rank tier, the time and the map pool. Captains verify through the panel in #captain-verification, which is what keeps the channels free of fake teams. Teams holds #team-listings, #looking-for-team for free agents and #looking-for-players for rosters with a gap. Results and Reputation is what makes the network trustworthy: captains post scores in #scrim-results, leave a short note about the other side in #captain-feedback, report no-shows in #no-show-reports, and the coordinators publish a monthly reliability table in #reputation-board. Captains who keep showing up earn Trusted Captain, which is hoisted so a new team can tell at a glance who is safe to book. Scrim Rooms provides two pairs of six-seat voice channels so both teams in a scrim have private comms on the same server. The Lounge has #network-chat and #vod-swap for exchanging recordings after a match. Coordinators run disputes and reputation changes out of sight.

When to use it

Teams in your region find scrims through a dozen scattered DMs and half of them are no-shows. This layout gives every game a captain-only request channel with one post format, records results and feedback so reliability is visible, and provides paired voice rooms so two teams can play without leaving the network.

What makes it different

  • Five LFS channels where only verified captains can post, each with a slowmode and one post format.
  • #reputation-board and Trusted Captain make reliability visible before a team books a scrim.
  • Scrim 1 and Scrim 2 each have a Team A and a Team B room, so both sides get private comms.
  • #looking-for-team, #looking-for-players and #team-listings separate free agents from rosters.
  • Disputes and no-shows are handled by Scrim Coordinators in a hidden category, not in public.

Recommended Vetox setup

  • Tickets

Put a ticket panel in #captain-verification so a captain proves their team in private and a coordinator grants the Team Captain role from the ticket.

  • Self-Roles

Post a Self-Roles panel in #game-and-tier-roles for the five games and the three tiers so a scrim request can ping exactly the right captains.

  • Auto-Mod

Enable Auto-Mod on the LFS channels to catch mass mentions and link spam, so a request feed stays scannable for captains.

  • Temp Voice

Point Temp Voice at Scrim Lobby so a third simultaneous scrim gets its own pair of rooms without adding permanent channels.

  • Logs

Enable Logs into #network-logs so deleted no-show reports and edited results are traceable when a dispute lands in #dispute-queue.

Questions

How does a captain get verified?

They open a ticket in #captain-verification with a team name, roster and a link to a match history or team page. A Scrim Coordinator checks it and grants Team Captain, which unlocks posting in the LFS channels and #team-listings. Trusted Captain comes later, earned through #captain-feedback and the reliability table.

What do the tier roles mean across different games?

Top Tier, Mid Tier and Open Tier are deliberately game-agnostic. Each game's rank cut-offs are written in #how-scrims-work, and a captain picks the tier that matches their roster in #game-and-tier-roles. A request that pings Mid Tier reaches only captains who chose it.

Can teams use the voice rooms for the scrim itself?

Yes. Scrim 1 - Team A and Scrim 1 - Team B are six-seat rooms for the two sides of one match, and Scrim 2 has the same pair. If more scrims run at once, add a third pair or let Temp Voice create one from Scrim Lobby.

Common mistakes

  • Letting anyone post in the LFS channels, which fills them with fake teams and kills the trust the network depends on.
  • Skipping results and feedback, so a team with five no-shows looks identical to one that always turns up.
