Overview

An organisation is several teams sharing one badge, and this server is built so they share nothing else by accident. Each roster gets its own hidden category - Valorant, League and Rocket League here, renamed to whatever you field - with a roster chat, a scrims channel, forums for VODs and the playbook, a scouting channel and a capped scrim voice room. Access comes from a roster role rather than the shared Player role, so a League player never opens the Valorant playbook. Academy repeats a lighter version of that shape for development players. Around the rosters sit the departments: Coaching Staff for #performance-reviews and #scrim-partner-contacts; Content Team with a #content-calendar, a #video-projects forum and a #publish-queue only the Content Lead writes to; Sponsors with a lounge and a #deliverables channel your partners can actually read; and Management, where #contracts-and-payroll and #budget open for the Owner and Directors only. The public side is the Org Front - #org-announcements, #match-calendar, #match-results, #roster-moves - and a Fan Zone with #match-day-live, fan clips and art, #merch-drops, #stream-alerts and a Watch Party stage. Fans pick a favourite roster in #fan-roles and get pinged for that roster's matches.

When to use it

You are running two or three competitive rosters plus an academy, a content team and a couple of sponsors, and the single team server you started with has become a maze of half-hidden channels where the wrong people keep reading the wrong things. This layout gives every roster and every department a locked category of its own, keeps sponsors and fans on the outside, and leaves management a room the players never see.

What makes it different

  • Each roster has a hidden category gated by its own role, so one team's playbook never reaches another.
  • Content Team gets a calendar, a projects forum and a publish queue instead of one crowded chat.
  • Sponsors see a lounge and a #deliverables channel and nothing about how the org actually runs.
  • #contracts-and-payroll and #budget are open to the Owner and Directors only, inside Management.
  • The Fan Zone has a Watch Party stage, match-day chat, fan art, merch drops and favourite-roster roles.

Recommended Vetox setup

  • Self-Roles

Post a Self-Roles panel in #fan-roles for Valorant Fan, League Fan and Rocket League Fan so match-day pings reach the right supporters.

  • Applications

Use Applications for academy tryouts and content-team openings, and let Team Managers triage the forms from #recruitment-pipeline.

  • Notifications

Feed the org's YouTube uploads and Twitch streams into #stream-alerts so fans get every broadcast without a manual post.

  • Logs

Point Logs at #mod-logs so Community Managers see role changes across twenty-one roles without opening the audit log.

  • Temp Voice

Point Temp Voice at Fan Hangout so watch-party overflow spins up its own rooms instead of adding permanent channels.

Questions

We field different games than the three named here. Do I have to rebuild the categories?

No. Rename the three roster categories, their channels and the three roster roles to your titles; the overwrites follow the role, not the name. Duplicate one category if you field a fourth game.

How do sponsors use the server without seeing team business?

The Sponsor role sees the Org Front, the Fan Zone and the Sponsors category only. #sponsor-lounge is for conversation, #deliverables tracks what you owe them, and #sponsor-announcements is where Directors post what the org shipped this month. Every roster and department category stays hidden.

Who can read #contracts-and-payroll?

The Owner and Directors. The General Manager sees the rest of Management - #management-chat, #recruitment-pipeline and the Boardroom - but the two money channels carry their own overwrites on top of the category's.

Is the Academy category needed if we have no development roster?

Delete it. Nothing else in the server references the Academy Player role, so removing the category and the role leaves everything else intact.

Common mistakes

  • Gating roster categories with the shared Player role instead of a per-roster role, which puts every playbook in front of every player.
  • Letting sponsors into management channels because it is convenient, then discussing a rival's offer in front of them.
  • Skipping Academy and letting development players read the main roster's VODs and scouting notes.
