MMO Social Guild
A casual MMO guild server: a guild hall, event signups, dungeon groups, a crafting request forum and no raid tiers.
- 7 categories
- 26 channels
- 11 roles
- Medium
Choose a server, review what will be created or reused, then confirm. Merge keeps what you have; replace rebuilds the server. Vetox takes a safety backup first either way.

Overview
For a guild that logs in to hang out, not to progress a raid tier - the kind of guild in Final Fantasy XIV, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 or The Elder Scrolls Online that runs housing tours and glamour contests and still clears dungeons together. The ranks are social: Guild Master, Officer, Event Host, Guildie and Newcomer, with Tank, Healer, DPS and Crafter as self-picked tags that make group finding work. The Guild Hall is the day-to-day: #guild-hall for chat, #tavern-talk for everything else, #screenshot-gallery, #pet-and-mount-showcase and #housing-tours. Events get a read-only #event-calendar that Event Hosts post into, #event-signups and #event-ideas. The Group Finder is three channels named for what people actually look for: #dungeon-groups, #leveling-buddies and #world-boss-alerts. Crafting is its own category: a #crafting-requests forum where each request is a thread tagged Weapon, Armor, Consumable or Housing and closed with Filled, #materials-exchange, and a read-only #guild-bank-ledger that officers keep. Voice is a Guild Hall Lounge, two Dungeon Run rooms and a Guild Meeting stage for the monthly meeting; officers have a lounge, a log channel and their own voice room.
When to use it
The guild has more people who log in for the company than for the loot, a dozen who craft for everyone and a handful who host events, and one chat channel cannot carry all of it: crafting requests get lost, event details get asked five times, and nobody knows who is free for a dungeon. This layout gives each of those activities a home without adding raid tiers the guild never wanted.
What makes it different
- #crafting-requests is a forum: one thread per request, tagged by item type and closed with Filled.
- #event-calendar is posted only by Event Hosts, so the schedule is never buried under replies.
- Tank, Healer, DPS and Crafter are self-picked tags, so a #dungeon-groups ping lands on the right people.
- A Guild Meeting stage keeps the monthly meeting orderly: officers speak, members raise a hand.
- No raid tiers: the ladder is Newcomer, Guildie, Event Host, Officer, and nothing about parses.
Recommended Vetox setup
Self-Roles
Post a Self-Roles panel in #pick-a-role for Tank, Healer, DPS and Crafter so members set their tags on the day they join.
Suggestions
Point Suggestions at #event-ideas so members propose a housing tour or a glamour contest and vote before an Event Host schedules it.
Starboard
Turn on Starboard for #screenshot-gallery so the best shots of the month rise to the top on their own.
Leveling
Make Guildie a Leveling role reward at a level a regular reaches in a few weeks, so Newcomer means new rather than quiet.
Reminders
Schedule a Reminder in #event-signups the day before each event with the meeting point and the time.
Questions
Does this work for a game without housing or glamour?
Yes. #housing-tours and #pet-and-mount-showcase are the two most game-specific channels; rename them to whatever your guild shows off, or delete them. The event, group finder and crafting categories fit any MMO.
How does the crafting forum work?
A member opens a thread in #crafting-requests with the item and the materials they have, tagged Weapon, Armor, Consumable or Housing. A Crafter replies to claim it, and when the item is handed over the thread gets the Filled tag and is closed. Nothing is lost in chat.
Why is there a stage channel?
Guild Meeting is a stage so the monthly meeting has speakers and an audience with raise-hand, instead of a voice room where fifteen people talk over each other. Outside meetings it sits unused, which is fine.
What can a Newcomer see?
Everything except the Officers category. Social guilds do not benefit from hiding the hall from new people; the tag exists so officers can spot who still needs a welcome.
Common mistakes
- Adding a raid category anyway for later, which tells a social guild that the fun part is the waiting room.
- Letting anyone post in #event-calendar, so the calendar becomes a discussion and the actual dates disappear.
Consider instead
- Guild Alliance Council You are coordinating several guilds rather than running one.
