A peer study group for medical students across the preclinical and clinical years, run by a host and helpers who are a year or two ahead rather than by faculty. The layout follows how the degree is actually organised. SYSTEMS is one channel per body system, #cardiology through #musculoskeletal, for the preclinical years working through physiology and pathology. ROTATIONS is one channel per placement, #internal-medicine, #surgery, #paediatrics, #obstetrics-and-gynaecology, #psychiatry, #emergency-medicine and #general-practice, where the clinical years swap what a consultant asked and what the ward round was like. QUESTION BANKS holds #qbank-discussion for tricky questions in your own words, #flashcard-decks for sharing decks, #mnemonics and a helper-posted #question-of-the-week answered in threads. CLINICAL has #clinical-tips, #osce-practice-signups and #case-discussions, a forum tagged by system where a case runs as one thread. The STUDY ROOMS are split by purpose: Silent Ward denies speaking, Group Revision allows it, OSCE Practice Room is capped at four for examiner-and-patient role play, and Anatomy Review is the room for going through a region together. WELLNESS has #wellness-corner with a slowmode and #decompress, because the group is also the people who notice when someone goes quiet. Year roles, Preclinical, Clinical Years and Boards Prep, are self-assigned.

When to use it

The year group chat mixes a third-year's surgery placement question with a first-year's cardiology physiology, someone shared a flashcard deck last month that nobody can find, and OSCE practice keeps getting scheduled in a room where people are quietly revising. This layout separates systems from rotations, gives decks and question banks a permanent home, and gives OSCE role play a capped room of its own.
