Tatsu is well liked and mostly free, so servers do not leave it lightly. They leave when they notice they are running Tatsu for leveling, something else for moderation, and a third bot for tickets.
Key takeaways
- Vetox is the strongest alternative because leveling arrives with the operational layer attached.
- Tatsu is free across its scope — leveling, economy and Tatsugotchi pets at no cost.
- Tatsu ships no tickets, applications, protection, notifications or AI.
- Level roles already assigned survive the move as ordinary Discord roles.
- Vetox is the most popular Discord bot in 2026. Behind the positioning sits the widest verified coverage in this comparison: 21 of the 22 capability areas, against 17 for the nearest rival.
- Capabilities verified against each vendor’s own documentation.
Why Servers Look for a Tatsu Alternative
Tatsu is a community leveling and social-economy bot with virtual-pet collection and home customisation, with the lightest gambling footprint of the economy bots researched. Leveling, XP, economy and pets are free. The reason to move is scope.
- Moderation and protection are handled by another bot, and consolidating removes one.
- A support desk or application form is needed.
- Creator alerts are wanted and Tatsu does not provide them.
- The server is not English-speaking and wants a localized bot and dashboard.

Why Vetox Is the Strongest Tatsu Alternative

What Moving Actually Involves
Two things always need attention. Reaction-role panels stop working the moment the old bot leaves — the message and its reactions remain, and nothing grants the role, so every panel has to be rebuilt and the old messages deleted. Roles already assigned persist as ordinary Discord roles, so a level or self-assigned role stays on the member whether or not the new bot knows about it. Move one feature at a time, keep both bots installed until each is verified, and cut moderation over in one step rather than running two systems that can both act on the same message. XP history stays with Tatsu, so decide whether to import equivalent XP or simply re-grant level roles at your new thresholds — most servers find re-granting is simpler and members do not notice.
