Two very different attacks get filed under one word. A raid is a flood of accounts joining at once to spam or harass. A nuke is a single account with permissions deleting your channels and roles. Blocking the first does nothing about the second, and most servers discover the distinction on the day it matters.
Key takeaways
- Raids and nukes are different attacks. Join-rate limits stop a raid; only audit-log monitoring stops a nuke.
- Vetox Protection is on the free plan — 20 of its 21 dangerous action types, with automatic punishment and optional undo of the action it caught.
- Vetox Anti-Raid is Basic and above: configurable join thresholds, minimum account age, and up to 10 JoinGuard conditions.
- Whitelists and per-role rules matter more than raw detection — a protection system that punishes your own admins gets switched off within a week.
- Capabilities verified 1 September 2026 against Vetox module configuration and published pricing.
Raid, Nuke and Alt: Three Problems, Three Defences
- DefinitionDiscord anti-raid bot
- A bot that detects an abnormal rate of joins and applies an automatic response — kicking, banning or muting the joining accounts, and optionally locking the server down — based on thresholds such as joins per time window and minimum account age.
The defences do not substitute for one another. A raid is a volume problem, answered by a join-rate threshold and an account-age floor. A nuke is a permissions problem, answered by watching the audit log and punishing the executor faster than they can finish. Alts are an identity problem, answered by join filtering on the signals a throwaway account gives off. A server with only the first is protected against the least damaging of the three.
Anti-Raid and Protection Across the Major Bots
Anti-raid is one of the better-served categories — most all-in-one bots ship something. The differences are in what an attack has to look like before the bot reacts, whether the nuke case is covered at all, and what the free plan includes.

Protection: The Anti-Nuke Layer, on the Free Plan
Vetox Protection watches the Discord audit log and reacts to dangerous administrative actions rather than to messages. When a monitored action fires, the executor is punished according to your configuration — and the action itself can be undone, so a deleted role comes back rather than merely being avenged.

Anti-Raid: Join-Rate Detection and JoinGuard
Anti-Raid handles the volume case. You set how many joins within how many seconds counts as a raid, the minimum account age you will accept, and what happens when the threshold trips. JoinGuard then adds conditional filtering on individual joins, so an account that looks disposable is handled on arrival rather than waiting for a crowd.
Vetox Anti-Raid at a glance
- Availability
- Basic and above
- Detection window
- 1–300 seconds (default 5)
- Join threshold
- 2–100 joins per window (default 15)
- Minimum account age
- 1–12 months (default 3 months)
- Raid response
- Mute, kick or ban
- Raid start and end messages
- Optional, to a channel you choose
- JoinGuard conditions
- Up to 10 per server
- JoinGuard signals
- Account age, default avatar, no banner, username patterns, generated-looking names
- JoinGuard actions
- Assign a role, kick, ban, timeout, DM the account, post to a channel, or open a case
The JoinGuard action list is the part that repays a few minutes of configuration. Not every suspicious join deserves a ban: assigning a restricted role, or opening a case for a human to look at, catches the accounts a hard filter would have wrongly removed. Defence that produces false positives quietly is worse than defence that flags them.
